PwC was recognised as an ABA100 Winner for Product Innovation in The Australian Business Awards 2014.

The Australian Business Award for Product Innovation [PIA] recognises product leadership through the practical application of innovative solutions for new and existing market needs offering a point of difference from their competitors.

PwC is one of Australia’s leading professional services firms, bringing a global network of firms to help Australian businesses, not-for-profit organisations and governments assess their performance and improve the way they work. PwC Australia now employs more than 6,000 people and provides industry-focused services such as assurance, consulting, deals, Indigenous consulting, legal services, private clients, and taxation.

AskU is the innovative new survey mobile app that delivers real-time insights for any business. With AskU’s real-time insights engine, continuously engaged and growing community of panel participants and a culture of participation, businesses can quickly survey a live panel, cross-validate data and create insights that facilitate decision making within days – not weeks or months. Realising that consumers are bombarded by marketing messages, emails, tweets and social media updates, AskU allows individuals to donate their time, rather than money, in 30 second increments creating new value for participation in market research. Through a unique partnership with Australian Charities Fund and four of Australia’s leading charities, AskU channels 50% of all revenue raised directly to social causes.

Differentiating features of the survey are its ease-of-use and simple design borrowing from the world of social media; geo-fencing technology which enables tailored questions depending on a respondents geographic locations; focus on building a community of survey participates rather than constantly acquiring, constituting and reconvening survey panels; and developing behavioural insight as AskU targets surveys to particular interest groups using the data collected hundreds of questions each week. As an Australian-owned and operated business, all AskU data remains on-shore, housed in secure data warehouses which comply with local laws. To date, AskU has had 10,000 app downloads and collated almost 2.3 million answers from the active community base.

The Australian Business Awards congratulate PwC for its success in the category of Product Innovation in 2014.
