Ted Kerr, a former CEO and Director of Workplace Giving Australia, has been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his service to the community, through charitable organisations, in the Queen’s Birthday 2021 honours.

Announcing this year’s Awards, the Governor-General, the Hon. David Hurley, said “on behalf of all Australians, congratulations to all recipients.  Each of these individuals are unique and their story deserves to be shared widely and celebrated.

“Collectively, they speak to who we are as a nation. There are countless examples of selflessness, commitment and dedication. There is diversity and there are examples of exceptional achievement in almost every field imaginable.”

Jenny Geddes, the CEO of Workplace Giving Australia said, “on behalf of the WGA board, team and the workplace giving sector, we absolutely concur with the Governor General’s comments. Ted has worked tirelessly for our organisation in both his capacity as CEO and Director – a commitment which continued even when his formal roles with our organisation ended.”

“We also agree with the Governor General’s view that Ted would not have been a person to put his hand up to be recognised and that is the strength of this Award system – recipients in the Order of Australia have been nominated by their peers and considered by an independent process,” continued Geddes.
